Rashall Hightower

Rashall Hightower is the Learning and Development Manager for the Umoja Community Education Foundation.
Rashall Hightower has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources, EEO, Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Advocacy, non-profit management, and entrepreneurship. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. In addition, She received a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida.
Rashall served as the inaugural Director of Student Equity at Antelope Valley College for close to 8 years. In this role, she developed, implemented, and oversaw 17+ programs and a variety of student services. She is the founder and was the Umoja Coordinator of the AVC Umoja Community. Under her leadership and “out-of-the-box” thinking, the AVC Umoja Community grew and thrived while closing equity gaps for black students. She was innovative in including students in changing the narrative, studying their data, and helping them write their stories.
Throughout her career, she has been privileged to work and serve in positions that promote equity and inclusion with California State University, Sacramento; City of Gardena; City of Los Angeles Personnel Department; LAPD; and other grassroots organizations.
Rashall Hightower joined the Umoja team in 2023.
